New popup console: we added a new semi-transparent popup terminal which can be shown/hidden, using a simple keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+M by default), like the great "Guake" top-down console. Here are the main improvements since version 9.4: We wanted to let you know that we just released MobaXterm 10.2! We hope you will enjoy working with this new version! We also tried to bring improvements based on your feedback: overall speed has been improved, new features have been added to the graphical SSH-browser, some syntax colorations have been added for Perl and Sql and the “Ubuntu Bash for Windows” feature has been greatly improved. This new feature gives some time for slow remote systems to handle pasted text properly.
You can download this new release of MobaXterm here. We also tried to analyze our users feedback and to fix reported limitations: MobaXterm works better even if its configuration file is not writeable, it does not freeze at startup even if SSH tunnels are configured with a non-reachable host, we suppressed a transient visual "glitch" on the top buttons bar each time a new session is started.
We managed to fix a long-standing problem with RDP sessions and Windows focus: in some particular cases, there were issues when switching from another application to MobaXterm, if a RDP session was active. In this version, we tried to improve existing features by removing limitations, fixing issues and enhancing GUI speed. We just wanted to let you know that we released a new minor version of MobaXterm (9.1). We have received many emails containing very positive feedback concerning MobaXterm and this is very motivating for us! We wanted to say a big thanks to you all.
In fact the full changelog is quite huge, so we will not post it here The new syntax coloration feature has been greatly improved with speed improvements and better keywords detection. This is very useful in order to display a website or url with a specific version of Internet Explorer. Of course, you can only emulate versions of IE that are older than yours. You can now emulate older Internet Explorer versions, from IE7 to IE11. Another new interesting feature which can be helpful is the "browser emulation".By the way, the macros have been greatly improved: you can now edit them in a more convenient way and you can also specify pattern conditions (wait for a pattern before following up with macro execution). This allows you to automatically execute a macro when session starts.
You can now specify a macro in Ssh, Telnet, Rsh, Mosh, Serial (COM) and Shell sessions.A new experimental feature allows you to open any external file or program directly into MobaXterm tabbed interface. When you are working in a tab, if some activity is detected in another tab, the icon will blink, and the tab title will turn to blue color in order to inform you that the terminal content has been modified.
You can even start a graphical application in Ubuntu Bash and it will be displayed thanks to MobaXterm embedded X server! For those who do not have the latest Windows 10 with WSL, remember that you can still have Bash on Windows (and much more) by opening a local terminal in MobaXterm. This allows you to use the new Ubuntu Bash feature (introduced in latest Windows 10 builds) directly into MobaXterm, and to take advantage of MobaXterm convenient interface (tabs, advanced terminal emulator, syntax highlighting, multi-execution, …).
